Steve Evangelatos’ career in animation spans over 26 years. He originally studied to be a painter at the Art Student's League in New York, and York University and the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. His career in animation began in 1981, when his student film won the Special Jury Prize at the Ottawa Animation Festival. After working as a senior animator at Richard Williams' studio in London, and dozens of other studios in Canada, the U.S., Germany, England and Korea, Steve founded the Natterjack Animation Company in Vancouver. Between directing projects for Disney, Cartoon Network and various other companies, Steve has busied himself with in-studio shorts, five of which have been screened in festivals around the world, from Europe and Asia to the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
These drawings are based on sketches done at the 2009 Shambhala music festival near Salmo, and published in a local paper. They're signed C.S., cuz locals out here call me Cartoon Steve.
