The Champ!

I went deep into my archives yesterday (holy crap, and I mean DEEP...some of this stuff was on floppy discs...) and recovered all these Champ album covers I'de done over the years.

For those not familiar with "The Champ", it originated as a sketch done by McLean and McLean, then expanded into radio 'minisodes' by my buddy, Jake Edwards, a Canadian radio institution and genius in his own right ('Bro Jake', for those living in Vancouver, or Winnepeg, or Ottawa, or Halifax...or any city he's broadcasted in his long career)

Scooby Doo Night of the Living Doo Part 1

I directed this Scooby Doo episode several years ago for Cartoon Network. It's an irreverant take on the series, with Gary Coleman, David Cross and Mark Hamill all doing voices. Fun stuff. Enjoy! Rich Dog Poor Dog!

Some pages from my latest pitch, and it's about...yah, you guessed it...a rich dog and a poor dog, who live next door to each other. I've got the pilot script done now, and am fleshing out more images. I think it's a great idea, especially in this day and age, making light of the discrepancy between rich and poor in a funny and irreverant way (yah, the poor dog is the cool dude,and the rich dog is the a-hole...), but more than that, it could simply be a fun cartoon in the classic form.

Hot Stuff

File this one under "On The Backburner"!

A couple of years ago, Chuck Gammage and myself were enjoying a couple of beers at the Ottawa Animation Festival, and talking about all the great comics of our childhood, and the old Harvey property "Hot Stuff" came up. We both loved it as kids, so we decided to take a crack at pitching it as an animated series to the current copyright owners. I drew up these initial designs, and we pitched it, but the project stalled after that: the owners felt that America wasn't ready for a cartoon about a devil...it could be construed as pitching devil worship to kids, or something like that. Despite the fact it was a successful comic in the 60's. All I can say is "Hell..." The story is ongoing and I will keep you updated.
